(5) a. Jane must dust the living room, and Mary must wash the dishes.
b. Jane must dust the living room, and Mary wash the dishes.
(6) a. Bill will write to his sister, and Jack will write to his brother.
b. Bill will write to his sister, and Jack to his brother.
ถ้ากรยิ าและกรรมเหมอื นกัน สว่ นนี้อาจตดั ออกได้ เชน่
(7) a. Jill will cook the meals today, and Sue will cook the meals tomorrow.
b. Jill will cook the meals today, and Sue tomorrow.
ถา้ ภาคแสดงไมม่ กี รยิ าชว่ ย อาจใช้ do / does / did แทนภาคแสดงในสว่ นหลงั ของประโยค

ได้ เช่น
(8) a. I like cheese and my family likes cheese too.
b. I like cheese and my family does too.
(9) a. His wife didn’t play tennis, but he played tennis.
b. His wife didn’t play tennis, but he did.

2. ประโยคที่เช่ือมด้วย Subordinating Conjunction

ก. ประโยคที่ประกอบด้วย noun clause ในบางกรณีอาจตดั คำ� เชอ่ื มออกแล้วเปล่ยี นกรยิ า
ให้อยใู่ นรปู infinitive ดงั ตัวอยา่ งต่อไปน้ี

(1) a. I believe that John is honest. I believe John to be honest.
ถา้ ประธานของ noun clause เป็นสรรพนาม จะต้องเปลย่ี นสรรพนามเปน็ รูปกรรม เช่น

(2) I believe that he is honest. I believe him to be honest.
นอกจากน้ี สว่ นท่เี ป็น noun clause อาจลดรูปเปน็ นามในรปู possessive และกริยาในรปู
ing หรือ gerund ได้ ดังตัวอย่างตอ่ ไปนี้

(3) That Jack has made that mistake surprises me. Jack’s making that
mistake surprises me.

ข. ประโยคทีป่ ระกอบด้วย relative clause ในกรณี relative pronoun เปน็ กรรมอาจตดั
relative pronoun ออกไปได้ เชน่

(1) The boy whom you want to see is here. The boy you want to
see is here.

(2) The girl whom you were talking to in the hall is the director’s daughter.
The girl you were talking to in the hall is the director’s daughter.
