Chamnien: Mm. I’m not too happy about it.

Ann: Why!

Chamnien: Look! I’m 50 years old. Ann and … you know what they say about people

Ann: I know what you mean: I’m only 27, and I’ve only been here a short time but

Chamnien: Mm, yeah. I don’t particularly want to learn how to do the job all over again

either.

Suchit: And I bet 4)                          go for training in the evenings.

Ann: Or even worse … at weekends.

Chamnien: I was talking to Orawan in Accounts this morning — she’s four years older than me

Suchit: It’s not only the older ones either. Some of the younger members of staff think

that they’ll lose their jobs too. A couple have already started looking for jobs in
the “Employment Wanted” section.

once these computers are installed.

Chamnien: Pim’s boyfriend works with the boss and he reckons that about half the office

will have to leave because there’ll be nothing for them to do.

Ann: Oh no! 8)                                               to cheer everybody up?

Chamnien: Well, I did hear that Mr. Johnson, the Managing Director is beginning to think

that maybe he should leave things as they are.

Suchit: 9)                                 ? The expense?
