Answering the Telephone

Every office has a telephone, and it rings and rings and rings all day, every day. The
telephone is an important and indispensable tool in every organization, no matter what the
nature of the business. Probably one of the first things a new office worker does on any job
is answering the telephone.

To the telephone caller, you as an office worker, represent the executive and the
organization. Therefore, you must always present a good image. A telephone caller is unable
to see the other person’s facial expressions or surroundings and must depend entirely upon
